The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Welcome to my new blog The Penn View Peek

Since I've got an insider’s view of what is transpiring here at Penn View Christian School, the plan is to share snippets of the goings-on in this wonderfully happening place. Though brevity is not my strong-suit, weekly posts will be short and sweet.

Another school year is underway on our beautiful campus.  Teachers are smiling, the buses are running closer to schedule, new sneakers are already showing signs of wear, enthusiastic cheers are rising from eager spectators on the sidelines of our field hockey and soccer games, and the crepe myrtle in the courtyard has already finished its yearly pink riot of blooms.

It takes several weeks until the majority of students are brave enough to start campaigning for a visit to the nurse’s office, so the diminished flow gives me a little time to process the mountains of paperwork flowing in from doctor’s offices, dentists and parents.

Though I want to plug my ears when the Back to School commercials begin airing before I've sufficiently settled into my summer routine, Staples has a point.  From the vantage point of beautiful October, the first quarter of a new school year really is the most wonderful time of the year.
